Welcome to our new MYC program for kids!

March 17, 2019

The Music For Young Children ( MYC) Program has to be counted as the dominant force in the musical training of young children in Canada today.

MYC has more than 24,000 students annually, 900 teachers, and is taught on 3 continents. More than 400,000 students have attended MYC classes.

MYC has taken a child based approach to learning music through a clever merging of study and play. Our classes are small, our programs age-appropriate, and creativity and expression are nourished in every component of the program.

Parents are important and welcome participants, accompanying their children as part of the program. The parent and child bond as a music team during lessons as they co-learn the concepts and material. The bond carries on at home during daily practice and other family activities.

We are pleased to offer a 10-week Music for Young Children (MYC) introductory piano course for children (ages 2,5 – 5 years old).

Music for Young Children (MYC) is an early-childhood music education method incorporating keyboard, singing, listening activities, creative movement, rhythm ensembles, and home activities to provide young students with a wide and firm foundation to music education. The program is fun and fast-moving!

Groups of 3 to 6 students and their parent / caregiver meet weekly for 1-hour classes.

A registration fee of $100 covers materials including books, bag, rhythm instrument, a tinsheet ‘keyboard’ and magnets.
Lesson fees are $260 for a 10-week session.

Classes are being offered in collaboration with Ms. Bridget Butt, an MYC-certified teacher from King City, and a very lively Dancing Dinosaur (puppet!).

Please join us on Wednesday mornings from 10 – 11 AM at the Royal Academy of Music and Arts!
